Great video, still one of the best references even all these years later. I just got a hayabusa and it has a cracked coolant container & a stripped oil drain plug. It’s been sitting for some time so I assume oil isn’t all that good. I bought a new coolant container. I heard you are supposed to warm up the bike before draining oil but I can’t do that due to the coolant container being cracked. What do you suggest I do going forward on preforming the coolant flush. Thanks in advance for any input!

Just a note about torque wrenches, if you use a crows foot to get to those inaccessible bolts, there are formulas to determine true torque with extensions at any angle. Most DIY won’t have access to unique tools to do this, so I see the “strong arm” method of torquing to be adequate. Do a few push ups first though.

Hi Delboy, thought about you yesterday when I was at the HD dealership. I was telling some friends about your project as we were looking at a streetbob. We all agreed how ugly that tank is that they started using several years ago. We figured that they saved a good amount of money switching to that newer tank. Can't wait to see yours when finished. It reminds me of the earlier models. One of my friends said that he thought about buying a new streetbob but that tank was a deal breaker for him. Have a great weekend. What if you do this, step by step, and they still won’t move? Is it possible for them to become so filled with dust that it’s impossible? I used alot of brakecleaner and twisted and twisted, but they still won’t wobble. Looking for ideas, given up for now 😅

Gedore is cheating with this blue set, because sockets in set is not original blue gedore socket with catalog numbers, it is something chip shit from Taiwan, only ratchets itself is original blue Gedore, so pathetic, so German. With overprice for brand only.

The sound of the taping bit with the tape pulls was just so satisfying..... Your freehand line drawing is just out of this world.... I cant even do a straight line with a ruler..... I was thinking it is a bit long... it comes off the bottom of the tank... I was thinking a certain part of men's anatomy might get caught.... It happened to me when I test rode an Indian Chief (Future Video)... It was not PLEASANT to say the least.... And then you thankfully cut it back but it might have still have needed a bit more cut off... If you do need to cut more off you should update us on that.... Another great video.... I think you should really think about the overhang at the bottom end of the tank..... Try it on the bike sit on the bike slide yourself as far forward on the seat as you can.... I think you should really do it. I think there could be an issue if you don't test for that.....

Respect your patience and steady hand to achieve those stellar results. Splitting those tubes in half was a monster job. Not for the faint of heart as the saying goes. Hi I wish there are similar crash bars for the Street/Speed Twin 900. Those can save you a real headache if you fall on the left hand side with the huge risk of damaging the shifter shaft mechanism which is prone to break on these Triumphs.

This bike needs a wheelie good band name - makes for an eye-Ker-ching first album cover too - 'Twin-Tanks Del & the Steel Bananas!' . . . (Yeah, I know, I know, - you can thank me later : )xx

I'm interested where's this going? Is this just a tank decoration, or it will have some function, like to attach some tiny clock/tacho device, or some kind of pouch etc...
